Huon Pine Walk in Southern Tasmania

Along one of several walking tracks on the banks of the Huon River in southern Tasmania.  The area has a diverse range of plants from fungi and mosses to large eucalyptus regnans over 80m tall and lots of these dicksonia antarctica tree ferns. Known in Tasmania as 'man ferns' or simply 'dicksonias' and on the mainland as 'soft tree ferns' they've been around for as long as 200 million years.
