Ireland Shore, Stenness, Orkney

Ireland is a township in Stenness and the shore here overlooks Stromness and the western entrance to Scapa Flow. To the North the channel narows and becomes very shallow as it enters the Stenness Loch. According to one local tale the sextant from the Mary Celeste may have been thrown in to the sea just to the south of here.
