Aerial view over the viewpoint Quinta das Carvalhas, located on the hill of Carvalhas 487 meters high, lined by famous farms vineyards as the Real Companhia Velha and Quinta de Ventozelo.

From the top of the hill you can have an embracing view to the south over the valley and the slopes of Torto river, wine-producing estates, Sarzedinho, Valença do Douro and other scattered villages. To the north of this privileged point, dominates the Douro river and the great wine-producing estates in the Douro World Heritage, the major tributary valleys of the Douro river and the river itself with meandering and sublime contours are a dominant feature of the landscape. This viewpoint has a picnic area flanked by large Port producing farms. Ervedosa do Douro stands out for being the parish with the biggest spot classified by UNESCO as World Heritage Douro as well as the largest producer of Port Wine of the entire Demarcated Douro region.
