The Valfagehrjoch is a notch in the Lechtal Alps, located on the border between the Austrian federal states of Tyrol and Vorarlberg, situated between the Valluga in the north and the Schindlerspitze in the south. The official map indicates an elevation of 2543 meters above sea level, while a sign erected by the German Alpine Club states an elevation of 2539 meters above sea level, and the contour lines in the Vorarlberg Geographical Information System suggest an elevation of 2541 meters above sea level.
The name was first recorded in 1610 as Vallfaggär and originates from the Latin val vaccāria, meaning "valley of the cattle alp."
