I am a landscape photographer living in the eastern Untied States. I recently started shotting panoramas as a way of putting people who may not have the ability to travel to the areas I've been into the photographs I've made.
Retired Military Photographer and photojournalist. In my spare time I still chase the sun for the next great image.
My degree is in photojournalism from Bradley University, 1985. I'm fascinated by panoramas, (particularly 360° panoramas), because they are at once "100% objective" and "100% surreal". No other type of photography, I believe, makes such demands on the photographer -- or offers such rewards.
I'm drawn to a subject not so much by its content as by what the light is (or isn't) doing within it. I'm convinced that HDR offers a broader "palette" of tonality to work with. But I'm further convinced that it's important to use the technique subtly, so as to enhance, not overpower, the image.
