The fortress located in Mezitli District, Mersin, is actually a castle of the Middle Ages built on a high hill 30 km to the west of Mersin, in the entrance of modern Cemilli Neighborhood –formerly known as Kaleburnu- positioned on the route to Fındıkpınarı. It is composed of inner and outer fortification walls. Some of the walls and bastions remained intact to our day. Fragments of ceramics dating back to the Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman Periods can be encountered on the surface.
