The castle is located in Český Krumlov in the Czech Republic. From the castle there are spectacular views of the town and surrounding countryside. The castle dates back to 1240 when the first castle was built by the Vítkovci family, the main branch of the powerful Bohemian family Rosenberg (Rožmberkové in Czech). Currently the castle is listed as a national heritage site and Český Krumlov is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Unrivalled even among UNESCO world heritage sites. This 700 year-old village is still full of alchemy. With a river looping around twice, you can't help but walk around in circles all day in amazement.
