Grosser Widderstein

Grosser Widderstein is with it's 2533m the tallest mountain in the kleinwalzer valley. This panorama was shot on the weekend of the Widdersteinlauf a mountain runners race that took place in the end of July. We went up the mountain counter clockwise and met the first runner at around one hour after the race started. We used almost 10 hours to walk the 1392m from the valley to the summit and down again. Compare that to the runners who rounded the mountain with 853m height difference in between 1h 20min and 3h 20min.

As we reached the top it was full of clouds but since we had the gear we still decided to shoot the panorama. Perhaps it'll get updated with clearer sight the next time we visit Grosser Widderstein.
