The Theta 360 is a groundbreaking new kind of camera made by Ricoh. This camera is like no other camera that has ever been made. (That sounds like B.S. marketing hyperbole, but I assure you, as a panoramic imaging fanatic, this is really true!)
The camera is a very small, flat camera, smaller than a mobile phone. on each face is a fisheye lens (with something around a 220º field of view). The two fisheye lenses are pointing outwards in opposite directions. When you push the button on the camera, it shoots an image with each fisheye lens and then combines them instantly into the camera's internal memory.
You can remotely trigger the camera with your iPhone or iPad (Android coming soon) and also share the panoramas instanly online via Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and the dedicated Theta360 website.
All things considered, after a few weeks using this device, I am extremely pleased with it. It is really a lot of fun to use and to show people. The images are very good quality in most situations.
You can see my panoramas on the Theta360 website also if you like - the panoramas are oriented correctly over there ;-)
